Off-Season Bonus: ASH

Hey there! So in between each season of the podcast, I like to release some off-season chats for you. These talks are of a similar structure to the regular episodes but aren’t part of the usual season format. And boy do I have a special bonus episode for you, the legendary Ash are joining me on the podcast.

I feel like a few of you might already know this, but I’d love to share this with the new people listening. The majority of my adult life has been centered around music, both working within it and enjoying it as part of my day-to-day life. That path really started for me when I was 15 when I heard Orpheus on the Shaun of the Dead soundtrack. From there I got their 2005 album Meltdown, and I was instantly hooked. They’re the first band I fell in love with and funnily enough, the first band I ever got to know personally.

We’ve done loads of interviews over the years, and yet this one you’re about to hear feels like the best one yet. It’s centered around their recently dropped eighth album, Race The Night, a body of work that’s full of vitality and spirit. Some might see it as a “return to form” album, but for me, it speaks to how a group of people can still have fresh and invigorating ideas even decades into their careers. I got to chat with Tim, Mark, and Rick to explore the passion and drive that’s kept Ash alive and why this new album means so much to them.

After you hear the episode, be sure to check out Ash’s track Usual Places on the official New Exchange Playlist. Also, be sure to follow Ash on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
